These four movements are intended as modest musical portraits of some of the feathered friends who abide in woods opposite our house.
Beak Beat is something of a rap, borrowing a few melodic phrases from the blackbirds, who are kind enough to sing at a pitch I can still hear!
Murmurations is in tribute to the starlings’ incredible shift-shaping aerial displays.
Creepers pays respect to a shy little brown bird who diligently goes about her daily work up and down the tree trunks.
Headbangers! … woodpeckers and we are most fortunate to regularly see and hear at least two varieties of these avian rock-stars in our forest!
